The 'Season' Begins!

Where there is no imagination there is no horror.

- - -Sir Arthur Conan Doyle

The beginning of September marks the beginning of a 'Season' for me - Halloween!
Yes, I realize Halloween is a holiday [I am sure some may beg to differ!], but it is MY FAVORITE and I just don't think the month of October is a long enough time to enjoy it!

So, the season's begun over here! Hubby picked our first pumpkin of the season - grew straight out of our manure compost at the back of the farm :) I smell pumpkin seeds roasting in the oven in the near future.

And apple dumplings...
And candles burning...
And crisp, fall air...perfect for flying the broomstick!

Do you like Halloween? What are your traditions?

You remind me so much of my Kelly--she loved Halloween and she was definitely my pumpkin girl! I'm finding my best memories during this season and your photos add to this feeling. XOXO

I like Halloween and passing out candy but as an adult I don't get into the constume thing anymore. However Fall is my absolute favorite time of the year and everything you were listing minus the flying on the broomstick is right up my alley!

I absolutely adore Fall! The colors, the crisp air, the pumpkins and apples! I'll take the broomsticks, too!!! ;-)

Ooh, what a beauty of a pumpkin! We love Halloween here, too, and can't wait to celebrate it! (Especially now that we have a little one!)
We love Fall, too, and can't wait for it. We even got married in the Fall. Beautiful time of year.
I'll be decorating the house like I do every Autumn. :)

Love it! The Great Pumpkin visits my girls every Halloween Eve with surprises and we never miss the trip to the cider mill or the hayride and bonfire at my brothers. We started decorating today! You are right, one month is too short!

I love fall!!! I can't say Halloween is my favorite holiday, but it is fun! I just love everything about fall....apple cider, pumpkins, pie, apple cider donuts (from our pumpkin picking place), cool weather, pretty leaves, football games!!! Yay for fall!
