The beginning of September marks the beginning of a 'Season' for me - Halloween!

Yes, I realize Halloween is a holiday [I am sure some may beg to differ!], but it is MY FAVORITE and I just don't think the month of October is a long enough time to enjoy it!

So, the season's begun over here! Hubby picked our first pumpkin of the season - grew straight out of our manure compost at the back of the farm :) I smell pumpkin seeds roasting in the oven in the near future.

And candles burning...

And crisp, fall air...perfect for flying the broomstick!

Farm Friday:The Weekend To-Do List

This weekends To-Do list includes, but is [of course] not limited to:

Deciding what to do with 10#'s of Roma's given to me from a co-worker 

Sell Apples 

Give this big 6 month old kisses until he screams in my face, then laugh because it is so adorable

Hose down some Equines for what will most likely be their last bath of the season

I am also looking to dabble in some whole fruit preserve in liquors...you know, like Vodka & Rum. Is Everclear legal here?

Try my hand at making my own laundry detergent...so my husband and sisters can tell me again how weird I am...

And maybe, just maybe, I think it is time to start setting up the Dept. 56 Halloween Village*

*New readers should take note I am a Halloween FREAK. My whole family is! So when a holiday of this magnitude comes around, only having decorations up for 1 month is unspeakable. We.must.start.decorating.NOW!

Hunt for the Great Pumpkin 2010!

Yesterday was our annual family outing on the hunt for 'The Great Pumpkin!' I took almost 100 pictures so it was hard to choose just a few to show here ;) But is was a picture perfect day and I think everyone found their 'great pumpkin!' We brought home 17 and had 6 more at home that grew from lasts years seeds :) Plenty to decorate the orchard with for our annual hayride in 2 weeks!
