Fireworks!

I love the 4th of July....almost as much as Halloween ... But not quite that much!
Continuing with our annual picnic from the weekend, here are some AWESOME shots my sister got on her camera of the fireworks.

This first photo is one I took and altered...but the rest of the gorgeous ones are compliments of my sister! Enjoy.

You have to love a nation that celebrates its independence every July 4, not with a parade of guns, tanks, and soldiers who file by the White House in a show of strength and muscle, but with family picnics where kids throw Frisbees, the potato salad gets iffy, and the flies die from happiness. You may think you have overeaten, but it is patriotism. ~Erma Bombeck

Patriotic Preview

The Fourth of July is a big celebration for us. Always has been. And for the past 4 years, it's become even bigger since hubby and I host it on the farm.

Tradition states, I mean, as tradition follows, hubby and my bro-in-law, Jay, go every year to purchase fireworks for their annual pyro display.

Honestly, I think this is in hubby's Top 5 things he waits all year for! This year, they left the house at 7:30a to head out. As I understand it, they were at the store before the doors were even open!

Jay and Allen pose proudly with their goods. I was still in my pj's when I snapped this pic.

And as tradition states goes, the boys align all their fireworks just so, and then I take the pictures. This year, a 3rd boy has been added to club.

And it seems he's welcomed with open arms! (while I have an anxiety attack!)
