Jill - I guess I haven't decided yet ;) I suspect I will have an abundance of beans by then [I hope] so hopefully some Dilly Beans :) And maybe some Pear Butter!
No canning party, but since it is a weekend in mid August - there is a high probability I will either be canning or freezing something that day. It IS the height of the summer produce season and alot of my extra time is spent preserving things for the winter. Of course, this year the weather is soo cool in the maritime pacific northwest, and everything is so late, I may be being optimistic that high canning season will indeed be occuring mid August as normal!
I won't be having a canning party but I am hoping to be swimming in tomatoes by then and canning them whole and as sauce. I planted a pickle variety of cucumber this year specifically just to try my hand at making pickles.

Ive never heard about this before. Sounds interesting.
I have never canned anything, althought my Mom did. Maybe I'll learn from fellow bloggers and be brave and step out of the box this year. Debi
I never knew there was such a thing! Sounds like fun. What will you be canning?
