Off to Market we go...

This week has begun our official harvesting for the season!

Tomorrow will be our first Farmer's Market for this season.
We'll have Early Mac's and Paula Red Apples.

People love the Early Mac's for the bite they get when munching on one!

We'll also have Starkrimson Pears and Seckel Pears.
Seckel Pears are also known as 'Sugar' or 'Lunchbox' Pears because they are small and taste like you've just plopped a dolop of sugar in your mouth! They sell out fast!

What's your favorite Pear vareity?

Bosc is one of my favorite pears.
Beautiful harvest. Hope you need help counting the money after the Farmers' Market.

I'm not much for pears, but Macintosh are my favorite apple. Wish I was close enough to come and buy some from you! :)

I love the taste of pears - the sweet grainy texture just sends me when they are ripe and fresh. Not sure I have a favorite so much as just love it when they are in season around here. I always buy a box and do up some canned pears.

Your produce looks absolutely beautiful - they should be a big hit at the market.

Your harvest is just lovely. I can't believe its finally time. I love your header with those baskets full of produce. I don't have any special apple or pear. I love them all. The pears are just amazingly beautiful, so blemish-free, full and ripe. You definitely have a green thumb in this.

I found you over at Suzanne's blog. Of course I saw your photo of the horse.. my greatest passion. I also rescue horses, dogs, cats. It was so nice to read your horsey story. They are incredible creatures - learn so much from them every day. Your farm photos are beautiful. I wish we had apples and pears. We have oranges, bananas, clementines..all the tropical fruits.

Gorgeous pics! Wow, do you have a pond on your property? How cool!

I have such a problem with critters eating most of what our small trees produce (of all fruits). How do you avoid that?

Rachel - Nope, the pond is on the back of our neighbors property ;)

Debi - More like Hubby has the green thumb!
